GMIA Glycol Recovery
Milwaukee County, WI

Client/ Owner: General Mitchell International Airport

Kapur is instrumental in the implementation and oversight of the deicing runoff collection program in operation at General Mitchell International Airport (GMIA) since 1998. The program includes: utilizing glycol recovery vehicles, permanent valve structures, sewer balloons, and catch basin inserts to collect deicing runoff. Kapur is involved in the day to day on-site oversight of the program, data collection, and verification of data accuracy. We continually refine the program in the face of challenges that include non-traditional winter weather, disposal options, a limited number of collection equipment units, and annual changes to personnel working for the collection contractor.
