Zoo Interchange Core 1 / Core 2
Kapur and Associates has been a part of the construction engineering team since the start of the reconstruction of the Zoo Interchange in Milwaukee Wisconsin. Our staff has assisted in the inspection, record keeping and survey for over $900 million in lets since 2013. The work includes the reconstruction of 5 service interchanges, one four level system interchange, 2 miles of adjacent arterials and 7 miles of six-lane and eight-lane freeway reconstruction.
The Zoo Interchange reconstruction program consists of several dozen let packages making up the estimated $1.3 billion in let costs. The project includes 66 structures including 5 long curved steel tub fly over bridges, over 100 retaining walls, two railroad structures and 16 noise barriers. The project also included 4,000 feet of tunneling in sizes up to 60 inches.
