After years of hard work and planning by countless Village employees and private citizens, the Village of Mount Pleasant was able to realize their dream of opening a new 67,500 square foot combined Village Hall and Police Department building after a generous donation.  Moving from a cramped, outdated, urban property in the retail area, the 15 acre site includes multiple parking lots for 350 cars and separate access roads for police department, village hall employee, and public vehicles.

User friendly walkways around the entire campus provide access to natural areas, wetlands, and a small creek meandering through the property.  Storm water management for the campus includes two wet detention ponds and 3 bio-retention facilities, designed and landscaped to blend into the surrounding natural environment.  A small bio-retention cell near the building entry acts as an educational tool, allowing visitor to understand how the storm water flow is handled for both water quality and water quantity.  Street trees and low landscaping welcome visitors along the new boulevard entry road into the site while maintaining safe lines-of site.
