The existing crisscrossing ramp and frontage road geometry at CTH G was reconstructed to eliminate unsafe vehicle movements. The new interchange and ramps are now configured as a standard diamond interchange with frontage roads. These east and west frontage roads were substantially re-routed around adjacent businesses and residences. The stream on the east side of I-94 was realigned before construction, giving room for the northbound on-ramp. Storm water detention ponds were added in the southeast and northwest quadrants.
Services provided:
Kapur provided overall administration of the contract along with inspection, material testing, survey verification, erosion control compliance, traffic control compliance, public relations, utility coordination, close coordination with DNR and SWRPC, measurements, contract change orders, ARRA record keeping and estimates for this highly complex, major construction project which involved high traffic volumes and working under traffic both day and night.
