Kapur was contracted by the City of West Allis to perform the following activities:
- Perform an Asbestos Inspection and Survey of the former factory area, office area, storage areas, and the boiler building. Kapur collected over 200 asbestos samples.
- Prepare Asbestos Abatement plans & specs
- Prepare the demolition plans and specs
- Evaluate contractor bids and make a recommendation to the City of West Allis
- Coordinate demolition & construction contractors and provide oversight during demolition activities
- Coordinate with potential land planning consultants and developers to determine the highest and best use of the property and prepare an Environmental Document to be included in the Development request for proposal
- Provide the city with emergency response when a UST was discovered during site construction and utility installation activities
- Develop a Remedial Action Plan and perform oversight of Remedial Activities including removal of a 10,000-gallon fuel oil UST, ‘hotspot’ excavation of petroleum contaminated soils, and closure sampling for remedial excavations per WDNR Guidelines
