Zoo Interchange Environmental Services

Kapur was contracted by WisDOT to perform these activities for the Zoo Interchange Corridor:
Prepared a Preliminary Phase 1 Hazardous Material Assessment of the Alternative Analysis Corridor that included site reconnaissance and a search of regulatory and historical records to determine sources of potential environmental contamination. The Alternative Analysis Corridor was 1,000 feet wide and included service interchange side roads to a point 1/2 mile on each side of the freeway.
Conducted Phase 1 Hazardous Material Assessment of the proposed alternatives which included 9.6 miles of roadway and consisted of:
- Database Search of 1/4 mile from the Centerline of the Proposed Alternatives
- Historical Record Review
- Stream Crossings
- Railroad Crossings and Corridors
- Potential Relocation Parcels
- Electrical Transformers
- Over 90 Potentially Hazardous Material Sites Adjacent to the Right-of-Way
